Hiro is the Sheep of the zodiac, is a snotty,
smart-mouthed brat. He's still 11 yrs. old. Despite this fact,
he's actually brilliant to speak with such wit at his age.
He is in love with Kisa Sohma and resents Tohru because it seems that she monopolizes Kisa's time and attention. He starts out being hostile to Tohru, but eventually eases his initial attitude through a combination of grudging admiration for Tohru and Kisa telling him to let up. He is sarcastic and pessimistic. However, his temper and patience with Tohru is still a little unstable.
In the manga, his pregnant mother, whom seems to be just as careless and klutzy as Tohru, might just add to Hiro's annoyance of Tohru with her resemblance to his mother in her forgetfulness and childlike happy personality.
Hiro seems to have no motivation to do anything to quell the anger he causes.
Since Kisa likes Tohru, Hiro becomes incredibly jealous over her. Sometimes it seems like all he wants to do is boss Tohru around. It doesn't change much until Tohru realizes that he is going through a stage where he realizes that he is still young, and Tohru understands that it's scary to come to that realization.
His motives are to act more grown up, though he doesn't have that much self control. He's also hoping that this way of thinking would impress Kisa.

the deviation
"Rin-oneechan, you don't like Tohru, do you?" I just like to prove that Tohru can't please everyone.I, on the other hand, hate her because she's always with Kisa-chan. She has barged-in with the Sohmas and has taken Kisa away -- away from my side. What else does she want?! It's a plain proof that life is unfair. I wish Tohru's mother would still be alive.
"Yeah. What of it?" I knew it. Isuzu-oneechan's day also turns sour whenever she hears that name.
"Tell me. Why do you hate her?" I was just wondering.
She's a hypocrite. She prefers to hide her grudges from anyone -- the truth is, she does bear some grudges. She's not human if she doesn't know how to get angry. And someday, her anger will fill her up that she might do further damage to the already screwed up Sohmas. She might hurt somebody. Worse, she might tell the curse to the outside world. That's why, before it's too late, I have to get Kisa-chan away from her. I don't want her to be a victim of Tohru.
Tohru isn't strong as every Sohma is thinking. Where, in fact, she's also seeking for companionship. She's a weakling. And, unfortunately for me, Kisa had her easy. I doubt that she loves Kisa. Tohru loves Kisa-chan because Kisa is kawaii.
I love Kisa-chan more than her kawaiiness. I love her more than anyone in the world.
"I hate Tohru because she's an outsider who got everyone hooked with her attitude. For me, she's a show- off. I never want to trust her, considering our cursed state. She's a con- artist." I completely understand what she's pointing out.Tohru grabbed everybody's attention -- the attention that all of us has been working for. And she's making a great job doing it. In turn, renders our efforts useless, like a spoon left in an empty cup.
"We're Sohmas and we've worked throughout our lives to be accepted by the society that we're living in. You have no idea how long I've been convincing my family that I am not a bad apple. I've endured every commands my parents have given me, petty or not. And yet Tohru convinced the other Sohmas to be accepted in our circle, for how long? Overnight? Not everybody agreed to make her stay." Rin-oneechan added.
I wonder if Rin-oneechan wants to hurt her so bad, like I do, right now. But first, I need her to make another negative move that's very obvious that I should make her pay.
